A Letter From The Team

Dear Leadership Reimagined Community,

We hope you had a refreshing and restorative summer and a smooth transition into September. Here at Leadership Reimagined, many of us took time off to prioritize rest and resourcing. We knew that this season—through November and beyond—would be a busy period of change.

As liberatory movement leaders, we embrace change and continually evolve to meet the dynamic needs of our world. Today, we share the important news of a recent transition within our organization: Elsa Ríos has stepped down from her role as Co-Lead to focus on passion projects. We are deeply grateful for Elsa’s dedication in seeding and growing Leadership Reimagined, and are pleased to announce she will continue contributing as a member of our  community faculty and as a coach in our leadership circles.

To honor Elsa’s contributions, we have given her the title of Movement Madrina, a fitting acknowledgment of her work as the godmother of our organization. Elsa’s leadership has impacted countless organizations and leaders, and we know she will continue to nurture and inspire our movements.

As we look ahead, Lisa Garrett Keiser will continue in her role as CEO and Wayfinder (CEO-W), guiding Leadership Reimagined with a renewed commitment to the vision that has always illuminated our work.

"Co-founding Leadership Reimagined with Lisa has been an amazing journey. It was our love project to create leadership coaching circles that centered BIPOC movement leaders. Offering the circles as a grounding and energizing resource during the COVID-19 pandemic and national racial uprisings has been one of the proudest moments in my career. I look forward to celebrating the many future successes of Leadership Reimagined seeded during these precious last few years and am so excited to see what Lisa and the team continue to build."

- Elsa A. RĂos

Three years ago, Elsa and Lisa launched Leadership Reimagined with the support of the Hive Fund for Climate & Gender Justice. Grounded in the values of love and liberation, our mission then and now is to build leaderful movements with the vision and power to transform the world. Elsa has helped us build an amazing team of staff and faculty and developed a thriving community. Together we’ve coached nearly 80 executive leaders and supported over 2,700 people with our learning labs and other resources focused on navigating conflict, building emotional intelligence, and developing joyful practice.

"Launching Leadership Reimagined with Elsa emerged from a decade-long herstory of collaboration. Together we accompanied movement leaders and philanthropic partners as they navigated the most difficult of times, offering both reflection and praxis. We’ve created something wonderful here. I’m filled with awe and gratitude for the gifted community we’re building. And I’m truly honored to walk forward in such good company, curating spaces to reimagine leadership, reclaim our dignity and knowing, and situate ourselves for the work ahead—together."

As we continue to design a liberatory future filled with resilient leaders, we invite you to dive into the wisdom shared in our learning labs, join our Love and Liberation Hub, listen to our podcast, and join us for our upcoming events.

We welcome you to join us in honoring leaders past and present by making a gift to support our work. With your support, we will continue to build and share loving, generative spaces where social justice leaders can reflect, heal, strategize, and thrive.

Thank you for being a part of our community of liberatory movement leaders. Thank you to our fiscal sponsor 9to5 and our philanthropic partners.* And thank you, Elsa, for your countless contributions. Your legacy will forever be a foundational and treasured part of Leadership Reimagined.

With love and gratitude,

The Leadership Reimagined Team
