Meeting the Movement Moment

The social justice sector is facing an unprecedented level of leadership turnover during one of the most critically important moments in the fight for justice, yet our investments in supporting social justice leaders remain woefully inadequate.  According to the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy, less that 1% of grant-making dollars are dedicated to supporting leadership development.

Given the outsized impact leaders have on their respective organizations, under-investing in the growth and success of our leaders is a perilous proposition that directly undermines our ability to affect social change.

Developing the leadership skills and resiliency of diverse social change leaders is an essential strategy for building vibrant social movements that can lead social transformation.
